Led by Prof. Matthias Egger, the ISPM provides under- graduate and post-graduate education and carries out research in a range of disciplines relevant to public health. Research groups cut across divisions, facilitating an interdisciplinary approach to research in the fields of social and behavioural health, clinical epidemiology and biostatistics, and international and environmental health.

Fondé en 1963 par le professeur Eric Martin puis dirigé par le professeur Olivier Jeanneret et aujourd'hui par le professeur André Rougemont, l'IMSP est chargé d'entreprendre des programmes de recherche et d'enseignement dans le domaine de la santé publique. Il agit également comme prestataire de service dans les secteurs de la santé communautaire et de la santé internationale.

Institut universitaire de médecine sociale et préventive de Lausanne
L'IUMSP est dirigé par le Prof. Fred Paccaud. Ses missions spécifiques sont :

• Améliorer l'organisation et le fonctionnement des différents secteurs du système de santé
• Renforcer la place de la prévention des maladies et de la promotion de la santé dans le système de santé
• Promouvoir le développement et l'application des méthodes quantitatives en santé publique et en médecine clinique

Das Institut für Sozial- und Präventivmedizin ist Teil der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Zürich. Zudem hat es einen Leistungsauftrag der Gesundheitsdirektion. Leiter ist der Lehrstuhlinhaber Prof. Dr. med. Felix Gutzwiller. Das Institut ist in Forschung, Lehre und Dienstleistung tätig.

Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute
Unter der Leitung von Prof. Marcel Tanner arbeiten fast 600 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter aus über 40 Nationen in Basel und weltweit unter dem neuen Namen Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, Swiss TPH, einem mit der Universität Basel assoziierten Institut. Zu den neuen Forschungsschwerpunkten zählen chronische Krankheiten und deren Ursachen sowie Umwelt- und Ökosystemstudien im Hinblick auf Luftverschmutzung, Lärm oder nichtionisierende Strahlen.
